Democratic Factoid: On January 20, 2009, (which happened to be President Barack Obama’s first Inauguration Day), the Dow closed down 3% at 7949.09. On April 21, 2015, the Dow closed at 17,949.59; the NASDAQ at 5014.10; and the S&P at 2097.29. Since President Obama came into office, the Dow has more than doubled.
The unemployment rate in January 2009 was 7.8%. As of March 2015, the unemployment rate is 5.5%, a drop of more than 2%.
